Mom-and-Pop start up businesses tend to use gmail as their email. While gmail is free, and works really well, it’s not professional. And since we’re teens trying to convince the world that we’ve taken our writing seriously, things like a professional email address helps that.
Email hosting may be included in the domain/web hosting service that you pay for. You can pay Google for a business account or you can go to a mail hosting service like I did for $2 a month. I use Zoho. Zoho does lots of industry standard marketing like automated email campaigns. We’ll talk about that down the road, once we’re further along in our marketing journey.
For now, it’s your choice to just go with a gmail email, or spend a few bucks a month having a professional email, but know that your brand will look more professional with a proper email address.
