By the time my book is published, we’ll have put about $1000 into my book. That’s from paying a professional editor, book cover artist, website purchase, paying for a few ads, and giving a physical copy of my book to bloggers to review. So setting goals is super important.
If I sell my book for $9.99. And Amazon takes 60% of that, I need to sell 298 books to break even! That’s a scary goal for an unknown 15 year old!! If I want to actually make some money so I can use it for my next book, then I need to sell even more! We’ve decided that our goal is to sell 300 books.
OH MY. Things are getting serious.
But that’s why setting success goals are important. When I write blog posts, create IG posts, or whatever I’m doing, I’m much more intentional about it.
It’s like this isn’t a hobby for me anymore.
So your homework this week is to create a BIG SCARY GOAL that’s also attainable. It’s going to put you in the right frame of mind throughout the marketing life of your book.
